WORKING TITLE: Chocolate Bar Advertising

OVERVIEW OF PROJECT: I am creating an advertising campaign for a chocolate bar this will include making a website, 2 posters and social media platforms to advertise my product.

GENRE: Food

DURATION: The time to create all my productions is 2 weeks there will be 1 website 3 social media accounts and 2 posters
TARGET AUDIENCE: – The gender of my target audience is women aging  from 16+ My product will aim at all social demographic classes which is lower, upper and middle class. My audience blog is below.

SUMMARY OF RESEARCH: Some of the simple research that I have done that made me want to do this is a recent case study that I did on Cadbury’s advertising there chocolate while doing this I was looking into other chocolate bar brands and there product and none of them had any chocolate really advertising at females therefore this inspired my idea, I then did some simple research into branding and advertising as I didn’t really know much about it and I found some really intrusting stuff such as to make a brand you need stuff such as logos and good advertising platforms to advertise there brand I thought this sounded really fun and a good way to advertise my product therefore this research inspired me too and will hopefully bring success to my project.
YOUR PRODUCT: My products will be made on Photoshop and wix website, for my 2 posters and packaging design this will be mainly done in photoshop, I will get a clear packaging mage of google and bring it over to photoshop were I will use photoshops design tools to create my packaging how I want it my text will come of da font and also be placed in photoshop were I will put in on my packaging to begin my design. After placing everything in that I want I will begin putting my packaging together using the photoshop tools. For my posters I will do the same, I will place the name of my chocolate bar and any other text that will be needed and my images then place everything where I want them to complete my posters at the moment I have only an idea of a couple of details I want to add such as a caramel drizzle, logos and etc. For my wix website I will being by making my first page which will include my company name and social media sights at the bottom, after this I will create another page which will include categories that you are able to click on to direct you to different pages, for the first categories section I want to feature the new chocolate bar, my logo and a contest these will all be done using the wix website tools. For my categories I will have home which will include the content that I have just talked about for the ‘about us page’ I will feature a description about how the company came about and what we do, for the contests page I will include upcoming events and contest that are in progress. For the our products page I will feature the new chocolate bar and other products that we have these will be made on Photoshop and imported into wix. For the final page it will include all our contacts and social media sights which you can click on and it directs you straight to our sights this will be done using the wix tools.
CONSTRAINTS AND CONTINGENCY: The potential issues that I may place is the computers in my classroom not working therefore I have a back-up plan that if they go down I am able to use other computers in other rooms which have the software’s that I need. Another issues that I may face is the software that I will be using crashes therefore I will constantly save my work and if this does happen there are other accessible computers that are around that will be available with everything on that I need on there to load my work back up.

TIMESCALE: I will be doing my research and planning from  February 28th to 22nd of April then I will begin my production which will then take 5 weeks

BUDGET: Photoshop – £66.00  IMAC – £1,000   Microsoft PowerPoint – £60.00   Affinity Designer – £50.00   Wix Website – Free

Chocolate bar name ideas – 15th March

For my chocolate bar name ideas I have chosen to pick them myself and not have my audience decided. I have done this because I feel it is my chocolate bar therefore I would like to be able to create my own name and something that I like also I had to begin my social media pages earlier in the month therefore I needed to think about my name.

For my chocolate bar name I knew I wanted to aim it at females and represent them a little bit, I also wanted it to be fun, easy to read and not too long. My favourite flavour of chocolate is caramel therefore I wanted to base the name of the word caramel this was quite hard and I had to go with longer names to do this which I wasn’t really bothered about as they looked really good. After picking out the the main one that I wanted I asked my audience if they liked it and why just so I was sure this was the best one to go for which I picked out.

Here are my chocolate bar names ideas –

CARAMEL DELIGHT – I picked this because it uses the word caramel which I wanted, it also uses the word delight which suggest great pleasure and happiness and that Is something I want my audience to have when they eat my chocolate bar. I also like this name because it stands out really well, its easy to pronounce and it’s not too big/long.

For The Love Of Caramel – I picked this one because I thought it was funny and different, it uses the word caramel in it which I wanted and the word love which suggest happiness, enjoyment and pleasure which I want when people eat my chocolate therefore people will understand that from the name. Although I didn’t want something so big because its got to fit on the packaging I really like this however the size does put me off a bit.

CARAMELLO – I picked this because it goes really well and it feels more feminine than the others that I have looked at. It sounds fun and good when you say the name which I wanted. Although this doesn’t use the full word caramel it is interpreted into the name which flows really nice. This name stands out really well because it is different but clean, it’s quite short and one word which I really like therefore it will fit on my packaging better than the others.

Caramel Twirl – This is my final one that I picked, I like this because the the words caramel and twirl go together nicely. It uses the word caramel which I wanted and I like the word twirl as its very feminine, its very clear and not to long which would be good for going on a packaging. The word twirl is also quite common in the chocolate industry therefore people know what to expect.

Overall, out of all the names that I have picked I really like CARAMELLO I feel this is the most feminine out of the ones that I have picked and thought out. This title is easy to pronounce and sounds nice and clean when you say it. It is bold and stands out really well which I want for my audience so that its instantly recognisable. I am happy that I picked this title and I will ask my audience how they feel about it and if they like it or not.

This will not be the font and colour used for my final product –

Here is my questionnaire that I emailed to a couple of my female friends so that I could get an opinion of what the thought about my name..

All my responses were really good and I am happy with the feedback that I have received, everyone really liked the name as I had no bad responses and all my comment to why do you like this name was really good too however some people did say this name could be aimed at both the male and female target audience. These results have now made me feel more confident about my name therefore I will be definitely using it for my productions. In the future I will be asking my audience more about what they want too see and what they like so that I am able to appeal to my audience in a good and nice way.

Reflection

In this blog post I have talked about my ideas for the name of my chocolate bar and how I came up with that idea and why I liked them. I even did a questionnaire on my favourite name and asked my audience if they liked it and why. I got positive comments on my questionnaire and no negative therefore it had a good impact on my work and I now feel confident with the name that I have picked for my idea. I feel that my idea will go really well with this name because it includes the chocolate that I really like and many others, it will also go nicely on the packaging and on the website, social media and posters.
