Website planning – 26th April

Here are my website mock-ups for my first and second page. For my front page I did something simple as I dint want an over crowded first page with lots of text and images on it so I decided to go with this (First scan).  On my first page I featured my company name (Delight) in a light purple serif font however it is in capitals so that it stands out more and it is easier to read, underneath the title will be a stroke which will be hand draw to fit nicely underneath the title this will be done just too add a little more detail to the front page. At the bottom you will see my social media sights for the chocolate bar this will be featured on every page so that you are able to access it easily, these will be social media icons at the bottom not letters.

The next picture is the next page of my website this will include my company name at the top of the page so that it stands out nicely put doesn’t take up a lot of the page so that the rest of my stuff can be featured. Underneath that you will see the categories for my website such as contacts, about the company and much more, by using a categories people will be able to click the section they want to look at easily then be directed to that page I will have a font that stands out too so people can easily see and read it. Under the categories on the home page will include the new Chocolate Bar – Caramello I want this to be featured straight away because it will instantly attract my audiences attention as they will look and want to try it, there will also be an image of my chocolate bar featured next to this text too. I will be featuring the word ‘new’ as it is a buzz word and people will be attracted to it therefore it will engage my audience. On the right hand side of the page you will see me featuring the new contests this will also be to engage my audience there will also be a link to the contest. Finally in the bottom right will be my logo I want to feature this because after I have looked at other chocolate bar websites they all include there logo for brand awareness so that when people see it in the shops they know it’s them therefore I want to do this for brand recognition.

Reflection

Overall, I am really happy that I created a website mock up design for my chocolate bar as now when I begin my production I will be able to look back at this to see where I have placed things and how I want everything to look however this might change if I gain more ideas. For this mock-up design I have used inspiration from the other websites that I have looked at in my research therefore they have been very beneficial to me. I decided only to do these 2 website pages as I’m still think on how I want the others to look however I will update on the designs on my production. So I am really glad I have made these mock up designs for my website and hopefully they will be some useful to me and I will address any changes in the future.

Logo Planning – 24th April

These are my logo designs I decided to only do 3 as I felt after doing my research most company’s only had simple logos and there wasn’t much detail going into them so here are 3 logos that I made a mock up of.

Logo 1 – This was a circle logo with caramel dripping down in the circle, underneath the caramel we see the name Caramello in a pink serif font and a handwritten stroke under the name. The background of this logo will rather me in a light cream colour or a nude so that everything else can stand out but the colour also still represents females as it’s a feminine colour.

Logo 2 – This was a simple logo of just the name in a pink serif font with a handwritten stroke underneath, this was a very simple one however I do like it because it isn’t to busy and overcrowded

Logo 3 – This was my most simplest of logos, this is a chocolate bar with a bite taken out of it with the name of my new chocolate bar in the middle in a pink serif font I really like this as it shows that my product is a chocolate bar but I feel like it’s to simple however this is one of my designs I have done from gaining inspiration looking into logos

Reflection

Overall, I am glad that I created some mock up designs for my logo and I have narrowed it down to the top 2 as I really like them both so I will create them in photoshop to see how they both look then get feedback from my audience to see which ones they prefer. Although I only made 3 mock up designs I feel like that was enough to create my own logo and I am really happy with the ones that I have made. I feel like after doing these I am ready to do my production on my logos so that I can put them on my website.

Social media schedule planning – 23rd April

This is my social media schedule planning, I choose to this because I want my posts to go out at certain time when I know most people will be active on social media, I know some several times when it is best to post after the research that I did on social media statistics the times that most of my post go out are at 5:00pm this is when most people sit down and rest after work, school or waiting for tea therefore this is a time that social media is most popular and has a lot of active people on there therefore this is when I will post my main things such as the posters and logos. For my other post these will go out at 9:00am and 2:00pm I picked 9:00am because thats when most people wake up to go to work or school these post will mainly go out on a Monday too as thats when work days and school days start, I feel by posting at 9:00 people will be really active as most people check social media when they get up therefore this is when some of my post will go out. Ive also decided to put some of the post at 2:00pm this was one of the most common times people are on according to the statistics that I looked at therefore I have scheduled some of my post to go out then  as I feel this will also be a good time to get more interactions. Overall, these are the dates and times they will go out on, some have already gone out however some of them haven’t and these are the dates I have picked.

I decided to do some research into why time management was beneficial and I found some good points..

Improves Time Management

Scheduling systems are designed to help you keep on top of everything you need to get done. Rather than wasting valuable time writing and rewriting lists on a notepad, why not keep track online? Online task management software quickly shows you what is on your list for each day and what is coming up in the near future. In addition, you can reassign projects to different days or even different staff members. This allows you to use more of your time getting stuff done and less just making lists and planning.

They Prepare You for Unexpected Problems

A good plan should also identify the possible risks and challenges. When you’re properly organised, it’s easier to predict the problems that may pop up during a project. Thus, it’s much easier to craft contingencies.

Progress is Easier to Track

Once you’ve determined your goals and tasks, together with its corresponding schedule, it’s easier to determine where your company currently stands. Progress tracking is possible since you now have benchmarks to compare with.

Reflection

Overall, doing this scheduling has really helped me keep on track with everything and not get flustered with work, I will be able to put everything out on time with ease and reach a wider audience I am glad I did my research into advertising and social media statistics because it has helped me engage a wider audience and get more views on my post which I have already published. My research into why scheduling is so important also helped me as I am now able to track everything easily and improved my time management and not waste valuable time when posting as everything was all ready to go.

Packaging planning – 22nd April

Here are some mock-up product ideas that I made, I did 4 so that I was able to make one and make some improvements or just use different colour ideas.

BAR 1 – For the first one I drew a simple bar design however I did a caramel drizzle above it dripping down to the text. The name of my chocolate bar will be featured in the middle of the packaging and this will be in a pink serif font and in capitals so that it is easier to read and it stands out more, the pink serif font will be used as pink is a feminine colour and a serif font is also used to represent females. The packaging itself on this one will be in a cream colour so that it helps everything else stand out and its still using feminine colours.

BAR 2 – For my second chocolate bar packaging I decided to put the name of my chocolate bar a the top of the packaging this will also be in a pink serif font too as it represents females. Underneath the name we will see the tagline – its a sweet sensation I decided to put this on the packaging to see what it would look like and I think it looks really nice, this is also brand awareness too as my audience will instantly recognise the tagline. Under the text will be a stroke of caramel I will have this as my chocolate bar will have caramel inside it and the name of my bar is Caramello. For the packaging colour I have picked a light blue as this is a soft baby blue colour which is very feminine this colour will also make everything stand out too.

BAR 3 – For my third chocolate bar at the top I used the caramel drip above the name I really like the idea of the caramel being used on the packaging as my bar name is called Caramello and there will be caramel in my chocolate bar. Under the Carmel I will have my name of the car in a pink serif font this will also be in capitals too because it helps the text stand out and it will be easier to read. Underneath the title will be the tagline I have put this on the packaging to see how everything looked together but it looks quite untidy however I will create this bar on Photoshop too see how it actually looks. The packaging colour I have picked for this one is a light purple which is also a feminine colour this will also make everything stand out and its a feminine colour.

BAR 4 – For my fourth chocolate bar I used the caramel drizzle on the packaging again however this time I decided to have it dripping over the name of my chocolate bar which is in a pink serif font as its very feminine and as my audience is women I thought this would be a good idea. I like the idea of the caramel dripping over the title as its different to what you usually see. Underneath I also added in the tagline too as its brand awareness there was also a good amount of unused space therefore I put it there. The packaging colour for this one is in a light cream colour as this colour will make everything stand out too also its a feminine colour.

Reflection

Overall, I am really happy that I created these designs for my packaging as I now have a better understanding about how I want everything too look. My favourite one so far is the bottom one because I like how the caramel drips over the name as it something different that you don’t usually see on  chocolate bar packaging’s. After making these design ideas I have gained a lot of inspiration for my own bar however the only thing that I am unsure on is the colouring however this will come together In my production when I ask my audience what do they think about it. I am really happy that I made these and I new feel more confident in my idea and that I am ready to start my production on it.

Poster planning – 19th April

Here are two posters that I made, these are what I think that I want my posters to look like I have analysed these on the images that I have posted however I will talk about them here. The first poster we see has the name of the new chocolate bar at the top in a pink serif font, I have chosen to place this at the top because it will catch my audiences eye more and women will see instantly that it I aimed at them therefore this is why I have chosen to place it at the top. Underneath we will see an image of the chocolate bar, this will be in a light yellow packaging with a pink serif font for the name and caramel drizzling down on the packaging, I have chosen to have the image pf my chocolate in the middle of my page so that its easy to see and it stands out really well so that people can view it clearly. For the background I have picked a light pink or a nude/peach I am not to sure what to have right now but as this is an idea of what I want it too look like these are the colours that I thought would look the best, I also think having these colours will represent my audience more and make everything stand out on the page. The final thing I have on my poster is the tagline at the bottom I feel this was relevant to have because it is brand awareness so when people see it on my social medias then they see the posters they will know who it is, I also thought it looked really good at the bottom of the page as its not the most relevant of things therefore it should be seen last. The tagline also uses some alliteration too and the words sweet sensation females will like too.

This is the next poster that I made, this poster will come out first as it is advertising the ‘New’ chocolate bar, this poster will be to grab my audiences attention which is something that is key for the success of my chocolate bar. At the top of the poster we  see caramel drizzling down from the top of the page, I thought this was a really good idea because there will be caramel in my chocolate bar and the name of the chocolate bar is Caramello. The next thing we see is ‘New’ the is a buzz word and will attract my audience too the poster because they will want to know what it is, all this will be in a pink serif font as its  feminine and will represent my audience. The text will be in big lettering over the poster so that its easier to read and stands out really well. Under the text will then feature my chocolate bar this packaging will be in light yellow with pink serif text and caramel drizzling over, on this packaging will be the tagline – its a sweet sensation I have done this too see if it was better on the packaging compered to the other one which was at the bottom of the poster. The background of the poster will be in a light peach/nude colour as this will help everything stand out and it will be a feminine colour which will attract my audience.

Reflection

Overall, I am  really glad I did these mock-up designs of how I want my posters to look like because now I have a better understanding of the placing of everything, colour and text so that everything stands out and its clear for my audience to see and read. Although these might not be exactly how my posters will look in the end of my production I will constantly reflect back on any changes made and why. After researching into existing posters too this has also helped my put this poster together and were different things should and shouldn’t be featured to help me engage with my audience to look at the posters. I feel like after creating these posters I have a better idea of were my idea is at and that I am ready to start my production, I now have these too look pack at and understand why certain things need to be in certain areas and if anything needs to be changed.

Colour Scheme – 17th April

Here are the colour schemes that I have picked out for my packaging, website and logo I have picked six which I feel would represent a feminine audience over the age of 16yrs+ the colour scheme that is picked might not feature on everything that I created and only  one main colour will show. The colours above are the main colours that will be used and the colour underneath will be feature if needed this will be on the packaging and website. Here are the colours which I have picked out –

This is the first colour scheme that I picked (Pink and Blue) I choose this colour scheme because pink represents femininity and blue represents loyalty and this is how I want my audience too feel when they see my product being advertised. These two colours go really well with each other and will stand out nicely this colour scheme will be included on my questionnaire.
Picture4

This is the next colour scheme that I made (Pink and white) I chose this colour scheme because pink represents femininity and white represents purity and perfection this is how I want my product packaging and website too be. These two colours go really well together and the pink stands out really well over the white which is something I like. This colour scheme will be included on my questionnaire.
Picture1

This is the next colour scheme that I made (pink and purple) I chose this colour scheme because pink represents femininity and purple represents luxury and creativity this is how my chocolate bar will be as the taste will be luxury and my packaging will be girly and creative. These two colours look really good together as they are both feminine colours and they stand out really well, this is something that I want on my advertisements. This colour scheme will be used on my questionnaire,
Picture3

This is the next colour scheme that I made (Dark pink and white) I choose this colour scheme because the pink represents femininity however this is a darker pink which makes it stand out a lot more the white represents purity and goodness this is something I want my audience to feel when looking at my packaging, poster and website. I really like this colour scheme because of the darker pink as it will stand out more over the white. This colour scheme will be included on my questionnaire.

Picture2

This is the next colour scheme that I made (Peach and white) I chose this colour scheme because the peach represents femininity and charm the white represents purity and goodness. The representations of these two colours will have a positive impact on my packaging, website and poster they are both light and soft colours too which looks really pretty and nice. I really like this colour scheme as its simple but stands out really well, this will be included on my questionnaire.
Picture6

This is the final colour scheme that I made (Purple and white) I chose this colour scheme because the purple represents luxury and creativity and the white represents purity and goodness this is what I want my audience to feel when they see my advertisements and product, these two colour go really well together and the purple stands out really well over the white. This is another colour scheme that I like which will be featured on my questionnaire.

Reflection and Questionnaire

After looking into different colours I am happy with the colour schemes that I have picked out as they are all feminine and stand out when put on top of each other and this is something that I wanted so that my packaging, website and posters could stand out. I am really happy I did this colour scheme blog as it has given me a range of ideas to have and to understand what is the best colour to have on my products. I have done a questionnaire for my audience too see which one prefer and why and I got 21 responses on it which I have sown below. Here is the feedback that I received for my colour scheme overall, the best responses I received was on the dark pink and white this was one of my favourites from the start and I am happy that I got lots of good response on it such as it stands out, very eye catching, feminine and pretty. I did get other responses for the other colour schemes which wee good but my audience preferred this on the most and so did I therefore this will be my colour scheme for the packaging, website and posters.

Chocolate bar name (Picking Font design) – 17th April

I have picked out some different fonts that I really like for my packaging, website and posters. These have specifically been picked as they are serif fonts which represent a more feminine audience, as my chocolate bar will be advertised at women I feel these particular ones that I have picked out which I like should have potential to go on my products. I will ask my audiences opinion on these too such which one they prefer and why this will be positive feedback for me and will have a good impact on my company, it will also make my audience feel involved. Here are 5 that I have picked out with a small explanation why..

This is the first font that I looked at, it is in all caps which makes it stand out more it also makes it easier to read. This is also a serif font as it represents females therefore this is something that I really like and i’m keen to have. I also feel like this font is quite fun too with the flicks and some curvy letters. This is a font I really like and it will be included on my questionnaire.

Screen Shot 2019-05-03 at 13.53.44

This is the next font that I looked at, this is also a serif font however this is hand written therefore the flicks and swirls are bigger this represents females however this is the most feminine out them all. This font isn’t as bold as the rest however it still stands out as it’s big and its quite thick this is something i’m looking for as I want the name to stand out and be clear for my audience. This is another really nice font too and this will also be included in my questionnaire.

Screen Shot 2019-05-03 at 13.55.37

This is the next font that I looked at, this is another serif font which is bold and big therefore it stands out really well however this font does attach at the bottom and thats something I don’t really like however I do like the font. I also like the small flicks on this font too which I also feel is very feminine and that is the sort of font I was looking for. This is another font I really like and it will be included on my questionnaire.

Screen Shot 2019-05-03 at 13.58.43

This is the next font that I looked at, this isn’t a serif font however it is a hand written one and looks quite feminine, this is a bold font that stands out really well its also really big therefore its easier to read and it will be more clearer on packaging, website and the posters. This seems like a good font to have on packaging as its different too the others and feels quite cartoon like. This is another font that I like and it will be included on my questionnaire.

Screen Shot 2019-05-03 at 14.02.49

This is the final font that I will be looking at which could potentially go on my packaging this is another serif font which I really like, this seems to be more bolder and thicker than the other fonts that we have looked at so far however I do like this one because It would stand out more and look really good. Although this is a serif font it does have aspects of sans serif in it as its so bold and think therefore it would probably appeal to both male and female. Another thing I like about this font is that there is small spacing between the letters and this is something that I want I  feel it makes it easier to read. This is another font that I like and it will be included in my questionnaire.

Reflection and Questionnaire

After looking into these different fonts that I have picked there is two specific ones that I really like which is the third one and the second as I feel they will appeal to my audience the most. A lot of thought went into these fonts as I had to find the best one to appeal to my audience the most and I have narrowed it down to these 5, I have asked my audience on a questionnaire which one they like the most and from them results I will then determine which one I will have on the packaging, website and posters. I have done some brief explanations why I like the certain fonts that I have picked such as they are bold and stand out really well, also they represent a feminine audience. Here are the results that I got from my questionnaire –

Overall, most people said they preferred the top one some of the answers were, its fun and funky, fancy and eye catching. My audience said they like it because its gives a good vibe, feminine, pretty, girly, swirly and it stands out really well. After receiving the most good feedback on this I will be having this as my font as it was one of my favourites at the beginning  I really think this font will make a big impact to my packaging and I am happy with it.

Chocolate bar name and Company – 17th April

Here is my chocolate bar name I picked this myself without asking any of my audience as I wanted my own name as it will be my own created chocolate bar. I had done some research into existing chocolate bar names first which I got a lot of inspiration from however I decided to make my own. I personally enjoy caramel chocolate bars and this is were my inspiration came from for this name I did have some others however this was my favourite. I felt this name was also very feminine and sounds fun when you say it too which is another reason that I picked it. Overall, I am really happy with my choice of name and I feel it will work perfectly for my audience and the flavour of my chocolate bar.

Screen Shot 2019-04-24 at 11.53.20

Here is my company name this is another name that I have chosen myself which I didn’t ask any opinion from my audience. I decided to make my own name for my company as it will be my own project, I picked the name delight as it’s a feminine name and it represents something good and enjoyable which my chocolate bar will be. I feel this is a good company name and it will look good featuring on my poster and website this will also help my brand awareness too having a good company name and it being featured everywhere.

Picture1

Reflection

Overall, I am really happy with my chocolate bar name and company name and hopefully my audience will too, I have gained a lot of inspiration from the research that I have looked at into existing chocolate bar names and my own inspiration for the love of chocolate. I really feel like my idea is coming along now, now that I have my chocolate bar name and company name and I feel like I am ready to start my production.

Font on posters and website – 16th April

For my posters and websites I decided that I wanted specific fonts that would still aim at my audience and stand out really well. Although I may not need any text on my posters I still wanted to pick a specific one out that I liked so that I can use it on my poster if needed. Here are 3 fonts which I looked at –

This is the first font that I looked at which is ‘Georgia’ this is a nice simple serif font which is very feminine. The spacing is really nice and it stands out which is really good therefore my audience will be able to read it better.
Picture1

This is the next font that I looked at which is ‘Arial’ this is another simple serif font which is too very feminine, on this font the words seem to be slightly thicker which helps it stand out and catch the audiences eye the spacing is also really good and helps you read more easily.
Picture2

This is the final font that I looked at which I thought was really nice ‘ Palationo Linotype’ this is another simple feminine serif font this looks like the first font that we looked at however the words are thinner. This font looks really nice and stands out really well.
Picture3

After looking at these fonts and deciding on which one I liked the most I picked Georgia, I decided on this one because it is a serif font and it represents women, it also stands out really nicely and isn’t to overwhelming therefore this is what I’ll be using as my text font on my posters, it also stands out more than the others and I fell that it will be a good fit for my poster.

For my website I will be using wix therefore I will be looking for a font on that site to use. I will be looking for a simple clean font and that I feel represents my audience and will look really good. After browsing through the fonts on wix here are 3 that I picked out which I thought were really nice and had good potential too be on my website –

This is the first font that I looked at this is ‘Corben’ This is a really nice font as its serif which is very feminine however it has a touch of cartoon in it, it looks quite thick which makes it stand out nicely the spacing is good which makes it easier to read too.

Picture4

This is the next font which I looked at ‘Noticia Text’ this is another nice font that I looked at which is serif there is more spacing between these letters which helps it stands out and makes it easier to read too. I also feel that this font looks quite professional and that I would be something that is used on websites.
Picture5

This is the final font that I looked at which is ‘Avenir light’ This is a font I really like as its also serif which represents femininity the font is a good thickness which makes it stand out really well. This font looks professional and I feel it would look good on a website. this font isn’t too overwhelming and its simplicity makes it really nice and stand out.
Picture6

After looking into these fonts and testing them on wix I picked Avenir light. I really liked this font as it is simple and clean however it looks professional, I also feel this is something that my audience would like too as it’s very feminine and stands out really nicely.

Reflection

Overall, I am really happy with the fonts that I have picked out for my poster and website, I feel as though they represent my audience really well and will look really nice if they are used. Although this is a small blog I felt this was a necessary post to do as this will be in my production and I wanted to talk about everything, I did not ask for my audiences opinion on my fonts as I felt it would be better if I did it as I have done a lot of research into it and I had a really good idea of what to have. I am really happy with the two fonts that I have picked and I hope to use them in my production and I hope my audience likes them too.

Fonts picked – Poster (Georgia)   Website (Avenir Light)

Legal and ethical constraints – April 4th

This is something that I need consider when doing my production as I don’t want to mislead my audience into thinking that it could do something spectacular and example of this is if I had a tagline on my chocolate bar and it said ‘This will make you skinny’ this would be misleading my audience because it actually wont do that to my audience therefore that would be misleading them into buying it thinking it could do this.

Picture1

This is something that I need to consider when doing my production that I cant aim at children although I’m not doing this its something that I cant do, I have read into what happened to Cadbury’s Freddo advert which I have referenced below. This is something to consider because of child obesity therefore I can have nothing that aims at children on my packaging, website, poster or logo an example of advertising at kids on a packaging is using something like a cute animal or a toy on it therefore this is something that I wont do.

Picture1

This is something that I need to consider when doing my website as I cant do any contest that would attract children therefore I will do some where there is prize money or products what adults can use and I will do something that you can claim if your over the age of 17yrs. An example of a contest aimed at children could be if you buy this you could get a bundle of toys and gift cards this is promoting at children which you cannot do.

Picture2

This is something I need to consider when doing my advertisements as I don’t want my audience to think that something really good will happen if they have my product therefore I will watch what I put in my advertisements and on my product packaging. An example of this is that if they eat my chocolate bar it will bring lots of good luck obviously this wont happen therefore this is exaggerating and will make people want to buy the product.

Picture3

Reflection

After looking into the ASA website I have found that there is a lot of things to consider in adverting such as misleading people, children and much more. I am glad that I have looked into this so that I don’t do any of these and it will help me in the future with advertising. I will keep looking back at these and the ASA website too so that I know I am doing everything right and that stuff wont be a problem. Overall, I am really happy with looking into this and it will help me with my future productions.
